i asked the same question. the 2006 season is posted as one of the top threads on the forum page. lets keep it updated shall we! those of us that don't travel to these glorcs races don't know that they have been cancelled unless matt or someone else says something.
It was posted in the weekly result on May 24 that it was cancelled ,and only the GLORCS dates that are raced are non points and there are two drops for the year. So everyone should still be Ok in the points standing. Next time i will try to give more notice then 2 .5 weeks.LOL Also read the last part of the schedule when you get time.
I don't get all the concern over points I always hear people going on about this topic. Don't get me wrong I know why points are kept and why we have them it's for all the money in the prize purse at the end of the year. Oh wait thats Nascar or is it F1, anyway lets keep this in perspective, these are toy cars that happen to cost a crap load of money. We're pretty fortunate Matt provides us a track to run them on,somehow I don't think points applications are his only concern cut the guy a break.
All you guys with your top of the line buggys(hyper 8's and xrays) and top of the line engines (lsk's and modified engines) must be in it for something other then fun. It sure seems like alot of the top guys including you Ray care about points. You guys sure seem pretty serious. If you were just doing it for fun you'd be buying rtr mayhems and other lower end cars llike some people. Us guys should be able to care about points too.

If points aren't his only concern then let me ask you this Ray? Why are there no points for us guys who race at Matt's on days you and Matt etc are gone. Could it be that you guys in fact do care about points, so much so that you would make us other guys race for nothing just so you guys don't miss any points. I rest my case.
Actually JIm the reason for that is to give guys more of a reason to go with us to these event which in return will have more guys come to our track making the R/C commun ity more united ,.therefore more fun for all. This was my first full week for my x ray the last 3 weeks i ran my Mayhen with a sh .21 (stock MOTOR) same car as you with a smaller engine then yours. And who ever said that the hyper 8 was a better buggy then the mayhem/
the whole points thing is way over rated!! the only thing i care about is were i finished each week and the next, ect. cause in the end "there can be only one" there are a few guys that won't travel and are always up there in the points because of it! are they better drivers? HELL NO!! they are just there every week so relax and go burn some nitro
Jim you seem to have taken some offence to my comment, rest assured this is only my oppinion of the whole points issue. There are those who feel that the points thing is a big deal and those who do not. I happen to share the view of Chuck, I do care about my results the day of, (who doesn't) but to have to be on top of the points standing really isn't that important to me. Believe it or not. For the record my Hyper 8 has a Sportwerks 21 (stock) as an engine I believe that is considerably smaller than the engine your running. Let's just worry about all having a good time.
Ray I was sort of joking. I don't care about points that much I can't make it every week and don't have the skills yet to place near the top anyway. I just said that because after I said to Matt "no problem I just though I was seeing things" you seemed mad at me and said "cut the guy a break".
I'm finding this all a little funny at this point, like I said let's all just worry about having a good time. And Jim my comments we're generalized to those who have point obsessions not solely to you. I hope we're good now. Truth be told my real concern is just spanking Matt with my Hyper 8 and by that I don't mean the way he asked me to at the Great Lakes weekend get away.
So with that theory am I to understand we all drive Ford regardless of what company is on the hood? Besides we all know that Kyosho got their ideas from the early Tamiya 1/10 scales.
ford did not build the first autombile, it was the predicessor of mercedes, they built the first 5...and if i remeber the story correctly i beleive it was number 3 and 5 got in a car wreck that had number 3 burn to a pulp, in which when mercedes bought out the "other" half they made 5 reproducts of the the 3rd car. i no this because my uncle in england own one and mercedes head office have the others in the front lobby!
ford was the first manufacturer to run a product line for automobiles.
and as my post above about the points race being run or not, it was a simple point. the schedule had that date as a no-point date. there were some who did not come because they thought it would be a slow day, and some...as i, that came to test some stuff on what i thought would be a slow day. either way it was packed and a good day was had by all that showed i am sure. as far as points go, you can be all concerned how you do on just your day of racing, thats fine. if the guy that shows up every points day wins the points race over you, me or some other great driver that wins everytime he shows, thats great. that points winning racer is the greatest racer at that location that season. he placed the better than anyone else through out the summer and showed his dedication and support for the track the most...and thats what a points winner is all about. i can not wait until the points have been posted for the weekends racing. how i am doing is only a small part of watching the website. i don't care if win, lose or don't even finish, but i do like to see that there are 21 buggys battling it out this year, 12 mt's, 8 electrics etc etc and i watch them all to see how they are doing. i especially liked the first couple weeks when sherry put up the race results. you pretty much read the sheets and see the race before you on the screen. thats what the points are albout for me... not winning or losing, but following what is going on at the track!
