I was just wondering, is there a wrong way to mount my transponder? During my last race on Sunday it started to miscount my laps. For the last 4 laps it said that it took me over 25sec for each lap when I was still catching the other racers and did not break from the lap times I was turning. I also noticed that during other races that day it was missing some of my laps... I have it mounted on the base of my car, I thought the lower it was to the floor the better (during the entire day I had no problems with my batteries- either them dumping or glitching...) Any idea's ???
Hey jim did you change the position of your transponder in the main because you had no problem in the main only problem you had was in 1 qualifier and it was only one lap.And if i remember correctly there was some miss comunication on that lap. There were now problems in any A main classes with transponders. No problem in any 12 scale races. Len and John carrey had a problem in there first qualifier but they moved there transponder and everything was fine from there on out. So Kevin this sunday bring your car over and we will see what you are doing wrong if anything . Also in practice the system will be counting laps and we will make sure everything is working correctly. Out of 60 guys there were 4 guys with problems this leads me to think it is transponder position, since 2 of those guys changed there position and the problem was gone. Remeber christmas party is this friday see you all there
Hooked up the system last night and ran 3 races with 5 cars and five transponders. I had no trasponder problems ,using my x ray and jonathans L4 and had no problems.( I won the race of course)LOL .I tried simulating problems such as placing transponder near motor and speed control etc and found out that it will effect the performance of the transponder and a few other things will also cause problems as well which we will go over this sunday to make sure we get all your transponders working properly.
Thats where I mount mine, but after talking to AMB they say the front bumper is the best, away from all electronics. The pigtail should be isolated as best as possible.
I think the front bumper may be a little risky, there is a cutout in mine for it, but I would rahter have it out of the way, its called a bumper for a reason, how tuff are these things anyway?
Well I enjoy just reading all the stabs you guys give , there has to be some subconciuos reason for all the attacks directed at me. I can only woder what they are????
