Hey looking forward to your GLORCS race next weekend.

If I could just make a few suggestions.  I know you guys are seasoned racers, but from my understanding this will be your biggest event you ever held.

Quailifying...

Because you are having 5 quailifiers over a 2 day period.  Most races similar to this do qualifiying based on a point system.  Because the track conditions can change from one day to the next, and even from one heat to the next heat.  So in the intrest of fairness to everyone that attends your race.  Maybe you could do a points system for qualifying.  How it could work is your use the best 2 qualifiers for everyone.  The fastest time posted in each round, in each class, would get 0 points.  The second fastest posted time would get 1 point, the third would get 2 points and so on and so fourth.  The reason for a point system is to prevent on round from having the perfect track conditions and other rounds not having great conditions.  Also, this would allow people who plan on coming only on the second day to have a better chance at qualifying in the A mains, if the track condtions get worse as the round click off.  Most outdoor tracks get worse as the racing continues, and hench the lap times get slower and so do the qualifiers.  The RC Pro Series has a very good point system for qualifying.  It works great.  This is ONLY a suggestion in the intrest of fair racing.

Also... My last suggestion...

I suggest that you do a reshuffling of the qualifiers.  The reason behind this is you will not know everyones racing ability.  In the intrest of fair, quality racing, one would want to qualify with people of the same skill level.  Nobody has any fun when there are people in the qualifier that are turning say, 8 laps a heat and other people in the same heat that only can turn 6 laps a heat.  I would suggest after 2 complete rounds of qualifiying that you do a reshuffle of the heats.  This would allow the fast drivers to qualify with the fast guys, and the not so fast guys to qualify with the not so fast guys.  It is never any fun if an inexperienced racer is thrown in with a bunch of experts, only to have to pull over every corner because they are constantly getting passed by the faster guys.  And on the same token, the faster guys tend to get frustrated if they are passing inexperienced guys every single turn.  When the heats are reshuffled, it makes for much, much better qualifying.

Well these are my only two suggestions.  I am not sure if you already planned on doing all of this, but I thought I would speak up to help out and make your race program the best it could possibly be!  Remember, you are the first ones to run the GLORCS, you want to set the standard HIGH, for all others to achieve!!

See ya Sunday!

Thanks for your suggestions Chris, Chuck and I have also been discussing that. If you are out this Sunday then maybe we can sit down and make some plans.

I'll be out this Sunday Matt.  Chuck and I have been pumped about your race for a couple weeks now.  Barring any unforseen problems, we will both be out to your track on Sunday.

Later bro!

Hey Matt,

Forgot to mention....  one of the main reasons I suggested qualifying by a point system, was due to the schedule saying u are running 2 quals on Sunday.  Anyone showing up just on Sunday, in my opinion, would have a good chance to stil qualify in the higher mains.  Especially if the track is slower, for everyone, the second day.

No matter what, it will be a great race.  Wellandport isn't going to know what hit 'em!

What lap counting software you using matt?  Depending on which one your running, some have more options than others.

We are using the Laps Free software. I tried to rent a system that would use personals but the guy wanted $200.00 a day, so we will make due with what we have, because when it comes right down to it this all about having fun. See ya Sunday
